With rumors of an engagement swirling for Paris Hilton and Stavros Niarchos, Niarchos' wealthy family are said to want nothing to do with the socialite. "They refused to meet her last year when Paris and Stavros had dated for a while," says a source. "Paris even followed him and his family to Hawaii, where they go every New Year's, and they still wouldn't meet her. They think she's tacky." It seems Hilton has a record of not garnering any respect from prospective in-laws - the family of her first fiance, Paris Latsis, didn't like the Simple Life star either. "For their son to even think of marrying such a woman is an insult to the entire family," a source close to the Latsis family has said. "She simply looks like a promiscuous innkeeper's daughter to them. Paris [Latsis] knew this, which is why he didn't tell his mother the whole story. He knew she wouldn't agree to the match."
