Spelling garage sale a success

Hundreds of people lined up to scoop up the bargains and memorabilia at Tori Spelling's garage sale this weekend. The 90210 alum presided over the event, watching strangers pick through her belongings and snap up items such as a plastic Starbucks mug that was alleged to have a smear of Spelling's lipstick on it. "I had to break away from the past and be ready to start anew," Spelling said. "It's out with the old, in with the new." The pregnant actress told People mag she had decided to have the sale because she and husband Dean McDermott are moving and her "taste has changed. Plus I'm a notorious pack rat. I keep everything." Spelling has been open to the media about the change in her financial situation after her father died and her public battle with her mother. The sale was not a charity event; the proceeds all went to Spelling.
